Administrative liability for driving a vehicle while intoxicated in Russia and other countries

Abstract

The article analyzes the legal mechanisms for imposition of administrative sanctions for driving vehicles while intoxicated, using the example of the Russian Federation (RF) and a number of other countries. The article examines the provisions of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses (CAO RF), the practice of applying the provided sanctions, as well as the consequences of such violations for both individual drivers and the society as a whole. Particular attention is paid to preventive measures, analysis of judicial practice, problems of law enforcement, and international experience in regulating similar situations.
