Mass media influence on the formation of the youth behavior patterns

Abstract

Public consciousness is a system of ideas, views, theories, feelings, moods and traditions existing in society that reflect the social being and the conditions of people’s lives. The mass media means are the methods that reflect reality within the framework of formation of public consciousness, in view of which their influence on the formation of value orientations, models and behaviors, lifestyle is quite large. At the same time, young people - as a social group whose values and lifestyle are just beginning to form, are the most susceptible to the influence of the media, thus researching the level of the impact of media on young people, their landmarks, goals, values, standards of behavior, lifestyle is quite actual. At the present stage, the problem of “shifts” in the standards and values of young people has arisen, in particular, there is a distortion of their life goals, for example, the desire for some mythical “success”, which is expressed mainly in financial well-being, consumer attitude to education and self-development (Studying only those disciplines, directions, specialties that are considered prestigious and highly paid). In many ways, this is due to the impact of those images that are imposed by the media.
