Pledge of property as a measure ensuring compensation for harm to the victim

Abstract
The article states that compensation of damage caused by a crime and defense of rights of the victim are key objectives of criminal proceedings. In some cases, even with positive post-criminal behavior, the suspect or accused may be unable to compensate for the damage due to their financial situation. To encourage positive behavior, alternative criminallegal measures should be considered. These measures could establish a structured order of payments following an agreement on harm compensation, including options for deferment or installment
